DO YOU KNOW? MIZO SUPER COP : H T SANGLIANA
Politicians and policemen, both of these fields have not been fairly in the country due to Corruption. There are still some icons in both fields who go against the flow and make a belief that we can trust both, good people are still there. Let’s talk about a super cop and a politician from North East India who has inspired people.
Dr. H. T. Sangliana is a native of the Indian state of Mizoram. He is a decorated police officer, who joined the elite Indian Police Service. He held the post-Commissioner of Police of Bangalore city. During his service as a police officer, he had an impressive record. He later went on to become a Member of Parliament.
Dr. H.T. Sangliana was born on the 1st of July 1943 in Aizawl, Mizoram. He did his Bachelor of Arts Honors in Economics from St. Edmund Colledge in Shillong, Meghalaya, became an officer of the Indian Police Services in 1967 and was posted to Karnataka, served at various stations throughout the state and was known for his active participation in the 1978 Chikmagalur by-elections where the late Mrs. Indira Gandhi was also a candidate.
H. T. Sangliana was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Bangalore North of Karnataka from the BJP, but lost the election for 15th Lok Sabha from the same seat.
HT Sangliana is one of the 160 international delegates to join US President Barack Obama at his breakfast table.
Dr. H.T. Sangliana held positions in all possible departments in the police force and he was a decorated police officer known for his honesty and upright nature. He is known for booking a case on his wife because she used his official car for grocery shopping.
